What do I do?

You sit. The flight proceeds. This is the simulation.

Can I fly the plane?

No. You are in economy. Flight Simulator™ faithfully simulates flight for the majority of people on board an aircraft, none of whom are flying it. For cockpit simulation, several competing products exist and we wish them well.

Is there a Pilot Edition?

No. There has never been a Pilot Edition. You are thinking of a different product, made by a different company, for different people.

Where is the plane going?

Forward.

My thirst meter keeps rising. What should I do?

Press the flight attendant call button and wait. A response will occur, or it will not. The beverage cart also makes scheduled visits, subject to the cart's own priorities.

I received a beverage but I am still thirsty.

Correct. The cup is small and mostly ice. This is realistic. Additional beverages may be requested using the process described above, with the response characteristics described above.

Can I skip to landing?

No. That is not how flying works.

Why does the flight progress bar sometimes move backwards?

Holding pattern. The captain has been advised.

The person next to me will not stop talking.

We are aware of Gary. There is currently no fix, workaround, or escape. Selecting a different seat produces a different neighbor, not a better one.

What happens when the flight ends?

You wait for your row to be called, deplane, and receive a printed summary of your suffering. You may then fly again, which people inexplicably do.

Tips and Tricks

Window seats include clouds. Aisle seats include periodic cart-to-elbow contact. Middle seats include two neighbors, both of whom boarded before you.

The call button may be pressed at any time. Pressing it multiple times does not increase its power, and the aircraft knows you tried.

"Adjust position" is available whenever you feel it might help. It will not, but it is available.

Hydrating before the flight is recommended and, in this simulation, impossible.
